Bay Logistics Shoot

I recently had the pleasure of working with Jamie Honce again at Clearview Media. He hired me to run second camera on an industrial shoot for Bay Logistics. Those folks have three monster warehouses throughout Michigan, and it was Jamie's task to make the warehouses look sexy, so naturally he hired me.

Lol, no seriously, we got to shoot some pretty cool stuff, and I'm looking forward to seeing the final product when it is completed. In the meantime, you can check out some photos I took from the shoot, we went to some interesting ends to get a good shot. Enjoy!

Tech Tips

Hi all,

As I am in the midst of a heavy Dance Recital season at the Hartland Performing Arts Center, it is interesting (and a bit challenging) to work with the various direction, direction styles, and preferences of each group. One group will strongly prefer a specific lighting feel, and another will strongly oppose it! One group will demand a specific audio level in the house, another will not even think about it.

Bottom line for any technician involved with any director in live productions: ask as many detailed questions as possible before, during and after the production. Do not expect them to tell you what you need as they have many other details to attend to; as the tech, it is your responsibility to get the information you need from them. This will ensure your ability to provide the director with exactly what they are expecting.
